Google has recently added a feature called “Inactive Account Manager” it lets the user to choose what’s gonna happen to his digital life after his death. Facebook also provides a similar feature which allows family members to create a memorial page for their dead loved one.
With Inactive Account Manager a person can surrender his email, blog posts, Google+ data, contacts, documents, photos and YouTube videos to one or more loved ones or deleted entirely if your account becomes inactive for a length of time. It is same as writing a Will, you have to decide whats going to happen to your digital data after your passed away.
You can choose for this to happen after three, six, nine or twelve months of inactivity.
Google will notify you first with a text message and an email sent to an alternate address and then it will take any kind of action.
Hope that this new feature will let you to plan your digital afterlife in a way that protects your privacy and security and make life easier for your loved ones after you’re gone
